Join international movement educator Amanda Koh (Singapore) as she comes to Perth to deliver 3 very different but equally wonderful workshops this September.
Our 3 hour session will focus on preparation to express chakrasana/urdva dandasana (wheel pose) in backbends, as well as front and full splits (hanumansana). The session will meet you precisely where you are in your practice and you DO NOT need to be able to do a Wheel Pose or The Splits to get significant benefit from this in-depth exploration. So show up with an intention to take notes, photos and videos because we will go from basic prep and technique all the way to exploring the expression of poses in a safe and methodical way. :)
While we will focus on techniques to create stability and spaciousness to proceed into these deeper range asanas, how far you proceed will depend on where your active range of motion lies. You’ll learn how to expand that active range to go deeper, so this is not a session where you will be pushed into poses you are not ready for. We won't work with passive range or forced flexibility.
This is about cultivating a practice that is safe and informed, and loving to the body.
With over 15 years experience in working with movement and empowering people in their personal movement journey, this workshop is for those of you who have always wanted to level up on shapes that require deeper mobility for backbends and hip opening poses.
